Simplified Chinese is used in mainland China, introduced in 1954 by the Government to simplify Traditional Chinese in order to improve literacy.
Chinese has influenced many regional languages like: Korean, Vietnamese, and Japanese. Korean and Japanese have a writting system based on some Chinese characters. Vietnamese is written using the latin alphabet.
